I CAN NOT Eat Corn!

Sarah has had a loose tooth for a little while now. I have noticed that she has been playing with it with her tongue. Tonight we had corn on the cob for dinner. Sarah insisted that she couldn't eat it. Deric looked at her tooth and told her to pus on it a little. This first picture is the result... a tooth hanging by a thread.

Then she pushed it the other way and "pop" out it came! She is slightly distraught about the blood but VERY excited to have the toot fairy come. Hopefully she will bring a special treat tonight... you will have to check back to see!!

Super!

The other day we went to a birthday party. It was a superhero party and the children got capes with their initial on them. They also got spider man masks. Nelson is now "Super Nelson."

He is really into being a superhero. While my mom was here he was running around saying"Go Nelson" as he pulled an imaginary shield over his face. This video kind of shows, it was really cute.

Now he only wants to wear superhero shirts, or shirts with cool things on them like dinosaurs or sharks. If it is a plain t-shirt or polo shirt it is not good enough for him!!

Happy Mother's Day!!

This is the picture I sent out to everyone for Mother's Day. It could be a preview since I was very late in getting them mailed... the intention was good! I hope that all of you mothers out there have a great day! I would like to share with you a few things that I received today... I cried (but happy tears), just like my daughter Sam drew on her card for me!!

My children with the help of my husband made me breakfast in bed... a heavenly thing for me. (Not having the get up to fix everyone breakfast, and sausage served to me is my idea of heaven!!) All joking aside, I was then given lots of cards, two beautiful magnet boards hand made by my oldest two daughters. A hand stamped card from Carrie, a beautiful flower pin hand made by Sarah that was complemented MANY times at church! A wonderful massage/facial gift certificate from my husband (who bartered labor in fixing a few things at the salon for it-thrifty and thoughtful the best kind of gift!!) But the best gifts were the words that my children wrote in the cards... I'd like to share them with you because I am so grateful for my thoughtful children and even more grateful that these are the words that make them think of me ( I only hope I can live up to their praise!)

A card from Jessica lists.... You are, sweet, nice, remarkable, funny, teaching, smart, loving, understanding. I love you mom (MOM ROCKS)

Sammy's Hanging Poem reads:
M-agnificent
U-pstanding
R-easonable
I-ncreadible
A-rtistic

Sarah made me a book... "You are my I love you"
It is to long to put the entire thing but the last page says... I am your child. You are my mother and you are my I love you.

She also had a fill in the blank page... I'd like to share a few of her answers!!

My Mom is Wonderful!
She is pretty as a cupcake
She is 28 years old
She weighs 21 pounds and is 10 feet tall

Oh, to live up to all of these things!!! All I can say is that I LOVE being a mother. I have never worked so hard in my life, nor been so rewarded! I am grateful for this responsibility, and I am ever trying to be better. I hope you all have a great day!

Time goes SO fast!

Wally is just over six month now, it is hard to believe. I thought I'd document this milestone with a picture from the picture people (mostly because I had a great coupon!) I have to say I think he is especially adorable, but I suppose that I am slightly biased!

Wally loves "swimming" or "belly surfing" so I couldn't pass up this shot!

Santa Barbara

We have been wanting to go to Santa Barbara for a little while now. Jessica did a report on the Mission there in school and has wanted to go and see it. We were invited to go with a friend of ours last weekend. It was a last minute decision but we are so grateful she asked us. We had a great time. It was a beautiful day, not to hot or cold. Of course there was a breeze coming from the ocean, again it was a gorgeous day!

This first picture is from the Mission. This tree stands in the back and is surrounded by the cemetery. It was really amazing. Jess was excited because the girl from the book "Island of the Blue Dolphins" is buried here.

The fountain in the front was beautiful and I loved this shot of the water with the one waterlily.
The Mission.

After the mission we headed down to the beach. We rented a family "bike" and rode up and down the ocean for a while. It brought back memories for me.... almost 9 years ago Deric and I stopped there on our way down the coast and rented one of these. Jessica was the baby then, riding in the front basket!!
WOW, what can change in only 9 years!!!

After our ride we went back to the car and changed into swim suits. It is about 6pm in these pictures!!
Nelson says HI!
Ahh...the sand in your toes!
"I want to hold him too!"
Deric and Wally... and Sarah and Jess in the background.
Carrie, when driving along the coast looked out and said "It is a big Ocean Daddy!" Yes Carrie it is!

After swimming we went out on the pier. While we were out there we saw a few sea lions swimming in the water.
This picture isn't amazing, but this is one of the sea lions... they were a little too far away to get a good picture.
It was an amazing day and we are do glad we got to go. Spending time with family makes me so very happy, especially when everyone gets along and is happy.
