Giant Cupcake

Our friend Brad came to visit this month. His birthday is the day before Sarah's. His mom bought a giant cupcake pan for me to make for him. Sarah was able to be a part of the celebration too! The girls helped me decorate... it was lots of fun! The adults ate the giant cupcake, and the kids all had mini ones. Yummy!!

Easter Zoo Celebration!

I know that these are a little late, but my motto is better late than never!!! These are a few pics from the trip to the zoo for the Easter celebration. The kids and some cousins had a great time. There was face painting, carrot planting, "Ear" making, silly songs, bunny petting etc...
Here are the kids with their bunny faces. All the kids after petting bunnies. Sporting the fun "ears" that they made! Can you spot all nine children!! Nelson is actually having a fit and falling off of the hay in this picture. He actually had a good time except for this moment!

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies!!

I have always enjoyed oatmeal raisin cookies (although anything with chocolate far outweighs them for me). But they are one of my husbands favorites (and my son's too so it seems). These are not some special recipe... just the regular, off the box, Quaker oatmeal raisin cookies. As I was making them it brought back fond memories of my grandmother. She made these often, and especially for my dad on his birthday and other holidays. She passed away last year and I miss her very much. So Gram... these are for you!!
My Grandmother and Grandfather.
I Love You!!

His First REAL Haircut!!

Nelson's hair was really starting to get long... three inches in some spots. So when I was giving Deric a hair cut the other day we introduced him to the clippers. He was really excited to be like Daddy. I was surprised how good he was! Here is our new little man. He is enjoying his reward cookie outside. You might not see it but to me he looks so much older. My baby is growing up... as they all do. But isn't he handsome!!

The Meme Egg Hunt

Hey everyone... sorry about all the videos, but my mom wanted to see the egg hunt. Here are a few clips!

How many have you found? Jess helped Carrie first, then found her own.

Carrie's last egg.

The Football egg!!

Nelson knocks over his eggs.

Thanks to Meme for all the Easter egg fun!!

Little "Helping Hands"

The other day I had the vacuum out and Nelson got so excited. We modified it so it was more his size and here he is doing the vacuuming! Now if I can continue to channel his energy into things like this I could have a very clean home!! He really likes the broom as well, but isn't as efficient with it!

Pass It On...

Here is the deal:

The first five people to comment on this post will get something made by me. My choice. For you.

This offer does have some restrictions and limitations: I make no guarantees that you will like what I make. What I make will be just for you. It'll be done this year. You have no clue what it's going to be. It may be a story. No guarantees, I may sew or stitch or bake something. Who knows? Not you, that's for sure! I reserve the right to do whatever I want!

The catch? Oh, the catch is that you must re-post this on your own blog and offer the same deal to 5 of your own lucky blog readers. So, the first 5 people to leave a comment telling me they are in, win a homemade gift by me! Be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it.

Five Today!!

Five years ago we welcomed our third beautiful daughter into our family. "Baby Sarah" as she was affectionately know for so long, was the most wonderful sweet baby. At one she became the most wonderful, stubborn, willful, dramatic, loving, extreme, child we have ever met.... and she still is today, and we wouldn't change her for a second!!
Today started with a cuddle with Mommy, and then a bowl or two of cinnamon toast crunch (per her request!) Then before Daddy left for work Sarah opened a few gifts... she was so excited. She has been counting this day down for about a year now!!
Then we made cupcakes to take to her class... she wanted a rainbow. She also got to speak to her Meme and open her present on skype, it was a fun morning. Then we rushed off to Glendale for a kids concert in the park... "this is the best birthday ever" she told me as we were leaving.

After the park we went to her old pre-school class to celebrate. They made her a crown and a card that everyone signed. She also got to play with the kids for a while.

The kids were excited to share the cupcakes with her and even sang her happy birthday twice!

This is our sweet Sarah in her new dress that Meme sent. She LOVES that it came with a matching dress for her monkey... she just told me two days ago that monkey needed a new dress!!

I am so grateful for this wonderful spirit that we have been entrusted with. Sarah teaches me many things every day and I am grateful for all that she brings to our family. She is so full of love and all emotion, I am proud to say she is my daughter!
Happy Birthday Sarah!!

Easter

Sorry for the delay... there were so many pictures I felt overwhelmed... so here are a few to get us started. I will try and post more later.
We sent out a card this year to the grandparents and great grandparents. We used these pictures to wish everyone a Happy Easter.

Easter morning was filled with baskets and egg hunting fun. But then we dressed in our best and went to church to celebrate the true meaning of Easter.

The Kids. My mom and dad surprised me and sent the kids new Easter outfits. Jessica was happy to not be matching exactly! Nelson really didn't want to cooperate... this was the best shot we could get.

The Family. Not sure what I am doing, but everyone else looks ok!

A new little one

Today Deric and I went to see our new little one for the first time. Here is the amazing picture. Our little one seems to be a little camera shy and is turning away from us. The baby was moving the entire time though.
